Social Butterflies meetings take place after school for  1 ½ hours each session. The sessions are lead by school personnel or  women in the community. Each girl involved in the program is assigned a professional mentor who will keep constant contact with the girl. In addition, community service projects are embedded in the program, thus helping girls understand the importance of giving back to the community. Enrichment opportunities such as trips and other formal Social Butterflies events will be offered periodically. Last but not least, ongoing  support is available to leaders and mentors for successful implementation of the program.  Social Butterflies meetings  can take place at schools, churches, youth homes,  and community centers.  Social Butterflies cities are Atlanta, Baltimore, Chicago, Detroit, and Sacramento.
